The figure was in line with an earlier estimate by the country’s labour ministry.
There were around 1,078,400 people without jobs across the nation at the end of March, compared with 1,099,500 a month earlier, according to the Central Statistical Office.
According to the European Union’s Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, unemployment in Poland was a modest 3.1 percent in February, the lowest rate in the 27-nation bloc.
Poland's Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin has said that the government has spent tens of billions to save more than 6.9 million jobs since the coronavirus crisis hit the country more than a year ago.
Support for businesses throughout the country has exceeded PLN 200 billion (EUR 44 billion, USD 52 billion) during the last 12 months, he added.
President Andrzej Duda in late January signed into law Poland’s budget for 2021, which expects the country's unemployment rate to rise to 7.5 percent by the end of this year, from 6.2 percent at the end of 2020.
