The reading was higher than forecast by analysts, who had expected an increase of 7.3 percent, Poland’s PAP news agency reported.
In month-on-month terms, Polish industrial production in July was 6.5 percent lower than in June, the Statistics Poland (GUS) agency said.
Meanwhile, the country's seasonally-adjusted industrial production increased by 10.2 percent in year-on-year terms in July, while rising 0.5 percent month on month, the state-run statistics office also said.
According to the European Union’s Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, seasonally-adjusted industrial production in Poland rose 10.5 percent in June, the fourth-fastest rate of growth in the 27-nation bloc.
