Home completions up 1.8% in Poland in first nine months of 2022: stats office

Builders in Poland completed 1.8 percent more homes in the first nine months of this year than in the same period in 2021, the country’s statistics office has reported.

Around 167,000 housing units were completed nationwide between the start of January and the end of September, the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency said on Friday.

It added that the number of housing starts from January to September, at around 164,800 in total, was 23.8 percent lower than in the same period last year.

Meanwhile, overall output in Poland’s construction-and-assembly sector increased by 0.3 percent in September in year-on-year terms, while rising 3.5 percent month on month, Statistics Poland also reported.

Around 235,000 new homes were built in Poland last year, 6.3 percent more than in 2020, according to the statistical office.
