Nestled in Poland’s industrial powerhouse of Silesia, the Tychy facility has been manufacturing the iconic Fiat 500 for more than 15 years.

Since its establishment in 1975, the Tychy plant has produced 10.8 million cars, with 167,280 vehicles rolling out in 2022, marking a decrease of 1935 compared to the previous year.

Showcased for the first time at the 2022 Paris Motor Show, the Jeep Avenger was named Europe’s Car of the Year in 2023 by automobile magazines from across Europe.

It is the first-ever Jeep model to use a fully electric drive (BEV), as the car maker “is seeking to achieve a position as the world leader in the zero-emissions SUV segment,” according to the manufacturer’s statement.

In 2020, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, now known as Stellantis following its merger with the PSA Group, announced the Tychy plant would be responsible for producing a range of hybrid and electric vehicles for the Jeep, Fiat, and Alfa Romeo brands.

The first-ever Jeep SUV to be manufactured in Poland, the Avenger has already received orders from 10,000 European customers and is set to be delivered in the quarter of 2023.

Employing 2,000 workers, the Tychy facility is poised to see the assembly of a new Fiat model in the second half of 2023, with production of another iconic model from Alfa Romeo to follow suit in 2024.
