In May, Poland’s jobless rate totalled 5.1 percent, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
The figure for June published by GUS is consistent with an earlier flash estimate by the Ministry of Family and Social Policy, according to officials.
In June, 783,500 people were registered unemployed across the nation, down from 802,300 people in May, the IAR news agency reported.
On June 30, the European Union’s Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, estimated that unemployment in Poland was a modest 2.7 percent in May, unchanged from April and the second-lowest rate in the 27-nation bloc.
