Polish gov’t approves two minimum wage hikes in 2024

Poland’s government has approved a plan to increase the country’s minimum wage to PLN 4,242 (EUR 950, USD 1,050) a month from January next year, followed by a further hike to PLN 4,300 (EUR 965, USD 1,060) from July 1, 2024, according to an announcement.

Meanwhile, the minimum hourly rate is set to go up to PLN 27.70 (EUR 6.20, USD 6.85) effective January 1 and PLN 28.10 (EUR 6.30, USD 7.00) as of July 1, 2024, officials said.

The country’s minimum monthly wage rose to PLN 3,490 at the start of this year, from PLN 3,010 at the end of 2022.

Meanwhile, the minimum hourly rate in Poland is currently set at PLN 22.80, up from PLN 19.60 at the end of last year.

The average gross Polish monthly wage in June was PLN PLN 7,335.20, the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency announced last month.
