Designed by Warsaw architecture firm Noke Architects, Va Bene Cicchetti is an Italian bar selling drinks and small plates of food.

The interior design is inspired by the high waters of Venice, featuring sea-green floors and skirting tiles.

Customers enter through an arched doorway lined with antique mirrors, while a large drink cooler, carved out of stone and filled with ice and bottles of prosecco, serves as a focal point.

Piotr Maciaszek, co-founder of Noke Architects, said: ”We wanted the place to be unambiguously associated with Venice but we also wanted for this reference to be fresh and unique."

He added, as quoted by Dezeen architecture magazine: "We took inspiration from the colours of the Venetian flag, which dominate all finishings, and incorporated the acqua alta motif in the interior as an element of surprise."

Run by the German Design Council, the Iconic Awards recognize top achievements in architecture, clever conversion solutions and revitalisations, as well as future-oriented interior and product designs.

The awards ceremony is due to be held on October 7 in Munich, Germany.
