Portugal's wine exports to Poland hit record levels

The export of wine from Portugal to Poland reached a record high in 2023, both in volume and value. According to data from Vini Portugal cited by the Polish state news agency PAP, 7.85 million liters of wine worth €18.09 million were exported to Poland in the first half of 2024.

Maria Joao Menezes, a spokesperson for Vini Portugal, noted that the average price for a bottle of Portuguese wine was €2.30. "So far, 2023 has been the record year in terms of both quantity and value. This year could prove to be even better," Menezes added, highlighting a 3.03% increase in volume and a 3.80% increase in value compared to the same period in 2023.

In total, 15.68 million liters of wine worth €36.5 million were exported to Poland in 2023, with the average price of purchased wine at €2.33.

Menezes emphasized that Poland ranks 10th among the largest importers of Portuguese wine by sales value, with nearly 4% of the global market share. "Every year, the number of companies supplying Portuguese wine to the Polish market is increasing," she concluded.

In 2023, the largest importers of Portuguese wine were France, the USA, and the UK, spending €103.5 million, €100.1 million, and €88.5 million, respectively.
