"By the end of October, we had carried over 9 million passengers on board our planes, so we can already venture to say that this year will be a record-breaking one," said airline spokesman Krzysztof Moczulski.

"We estimate that we will carry over 10.5 million passengers in 2024 as a whole," he added, as cited by Polish state news agency PAP.

LOT currently operates flights to 81 destinations, according to Moczulski, with plans to expand that number to 83 by the end of the year.

The airline intends to launch nine new routes this year, including Athens, Lyon, Lisbon, and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, Moczulski told reporters.

Founded in 1929, LOT is one of the world’s oldest airlines. It provides flights across Europe and direct long-haul services to destinations in the United States, Canada, India, Japan and South Korea.
