Sales of motor vehicles shot up by 24.1 percent in October in year-on-year terms, and those of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics rose by 9.6 percent, the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency said.
Meanwhile, sales of furniture, household appliances and consumer electronics went down by 3.6 percent, and those of clothing and shoes dropped 12.8 percent, according to Statistics Poland.
In terms of current prices, retail sales last month were 2.3 percent higher than in October 2023, Statistics Poland said.
In month-on-month terms, retail sales in October were 7.8 percent higher than in September, the statistics office also reported.
