The Austrian capital was ranked second in the survey overall, with its picturesque Christmas markets attracting visitors from countries including Poland, Germany, Italy, Norway, Finland and the United States.
London emerged as the ultimate global favorite, renowned for its festive illuminations, particularly on Oxford Street. The British capital captivated people from various nations, including Spain, the Netherlands, Russia, Australia, Canada, India, and Saudi Arabia.
Interestingly, residents of these popular destinations have their own preferences for a festive getaway. British respondents favored Prague for their Christmas celebrations, while Austrians leaned toward Nuremberg.
Tokyo was the sole non-European city to spark significant interest, particularly among Thais and Jordanians.
Other cities making the list as desirable Christmas destinations include New York and Paris, followed by Budapest, Madrid, Prague, and Tokyo.
The survey also noted interest in Berlin, Munich, Nuremberg, Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Strasbourg, Cloudwards reported.
