Poland joins Canadian–Dutch initiative to combat disinformation

Poland has joined a Canadian–Dutch initiative to combat disinformation, the Polish foreign ministry announced on Tuesday.

"Given the global nature of disinformation campaigns, close international cooperation is required to counter foreign information manipulation and interference," said Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski.

He added that the Global Declaration on Information Integrity Online initiative "adds to Poland’s substantial efforts" to counter disinformation.

So far, 34 countries have announced they will join and endorse the declaration, including the United States, Britain, Germany, France and Japan, according to the Polish foreign ministry. 

Earlier this year, Poland and the United States agreed to strengthen cooperation on countering "foreign state information manipulation," according to reports at the time.
