Szczerba, who’s a member of Poland’s ruling Civic Coalition, told Poland’s state PAP news agency: “An EU-UK summit will be held during the Polish presidency of the EU Council in the first half of 2025.”

“The UK wants a reset in its relations with the EU,” he added.

Szczerba also confirmed he discussed the idea with UK’s Minister of State for Defence Vernon Coaker in London, earlier this week.

“We have a new opening in the European Union, new priorities. They are consistent with the priorities of the Polish presidency and the UK government wants a a reset in EU-UK relations,” Szczerba was quoted by the PAP news agency as saying.

He also said he believed the UK should be granted a special status in relations with the bloc.
