Poland's top diplomat acknowledged their past relationship on social media after the story resurfaced in Polish media.

In the 1980s, while Sikorski was studying at Pembroke College at Oxford, he was in a four-year relationship with Williams, who was just beginning to dream of a Hollywood career.

"Radek was my first great love, absolutely," she revealed in an interview with Viva! magazine.

In "Dune: Prophecy", Williams stars as Reverend Mother Tula Harkonnen, one of the founders of the Bene Gesserit sisterhood, fighting for humanity's future. She has also portrayed Camilla Parker-Bowles in The Crown and appeared in the global hit "The Sixth Sense".

Williams is now happily married to Rhashan Stone and has two children, while Sikorski has been in a long-term marriage with Pulitzer Prize-winning American journalist Anne Applebaum.
