The operation saw investigators confiscate nearly 1,000 kilogrammes of synthetic drugs "in the form of clophedrone, mephedrone and marijuana," along with chemicals used to produce these narcotics, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported on Tuesday.

Two suspects were detained during the crackdown near the central towns of Maków Mazowiecki and Wyszków, law enforcers said.

Prosecutors have charged the suspects with illegal manufacture and sale of large amounts of drugs, according to a police statement.

The crackdown, led by officers from Poland's Central Bureau of Police Investigation (CBŚP), resulted in the seizure of narcotics with a total street value of around PLN 43 million (EUR 9.9 million, USD 10.7 million), officials said.
