The Times ranked Kraków's Christmas market 21st, praising it for offering visitors the chance to skate in a snowy square, enjoy mulled wine and gingerbread, and experience the peaceful atmosphere of its galleries and candlelit churches.
As noted, the market is set in Rynek Główny, Europe’s largest medieval town square, where the air is filled with the scent of sizzling kielbasa.
At the center of the square stands the Renaissance Cloth Hall (Sukiennice), featuring ornate, art nouveau lighting and offering wooden Christmas decorations and handcrafted cribs as perfect gifts.

Ranked slightly higher, Gdańsk’s Christmas market took 19th place on The Times’ list of the most beautiful holiday destinations in Europe, praised as "best for festive romance and global delicacies."
According to the magazine, set in the city's historic center, the market is a "magical winter wonderland," featuring romantic touches like a mistletoe spot for lovers and attractions such as elf parades and a talking moose.
Visitors can enjoy Polish specialties like pierogi and a variety of international treats, including Alsatian pancakes, Greek bougatsa, and Spanish churros, as noted in the description.
Located in northern Poland, near the Baltic Sea, Gdańsk has been nominated for the title of European Best Christmas Market 2025.
