Polish EU presidency logo banner hung in Brussels

In the capital of Belgium, the banner of Hungary’s EU presidency was replaced with Poland’s logo, as it will take over the presidency starting in January for the next six months.

The symbolic handover of Poland’s presidency in the Council of the European Union will be officially inaugurated at a grand gala at the Teatr Wielki - Polish National Opera in Warsaw, with notable events also visible at EU institutions.

A banner with the Polish logo has already been hung on the building of the European Council.

Upcoming events include the first meeting of ambassadors from EU countries, chaired by Agnieszka Bartol, on January 9. On the same day, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will visit Gdańsk for a debate with EU commissioners and Polish government members.

The official inauguration of Poland's presidency will take place in Brussels on January 14, and on January 21, Prime Minister Donald Tusk will present the priorities of the presidency at the European Parliament.
