Maja and Nikodem: Poland's top baby names in 2024

Maja was the most popular name given to baby girls in Poland last year, while Nikodem was the top choice for boys, officials have said.

Next on the list for girls were Zofia and Zuzanna, while Antoni and Jan made up the rest of the top three for boys, according to Poland’s Ministry of Digital Affairs.

Other girl names popular in Poland in 2024 were Laura, Hanna and Julia, while Aleksander, Leon and Franciszek were among popular picks for boys.

A year earlier, Zofia was the No. 1 name for girls, while Zuzanna was runner-up. Maja was in fifth place.

Meanwhile, Nikodem remained the most popular name for Polish boys last year, unchanged from 2023.
