The monument, financed by billionaire Roman Karkosik, is expected to dwarf the 36-meter Christ the King statue in Świebodzin, Poland, and even outmatch Rio de Janeiro’s 38-meter Christ the Redeemer.
Plans indicate the figure itself will reach 40.6 meters, standing atop a 15-meter crown-shaped base, making it one of the tallest religious statues in Europe. The project, envisioned as a votive offering from Karkosik, is set for completion in mid-2026.
Karkosik, born in 1951, ranks among Poland’s wealthiest individuals, with an estimated net worth of 1.7 billion złoty (according to Wprost magazine). He controls several major companies, including automotive and chemical components producer Boryszew SA.
