The United States is tightening immigration laws. President Donald Trump signed a law aimed at addressing illegal immigrants convicted of crimes, which has raised significant interest among Americans of Polish descent.

Polish Radio's White House correspondent, Marek Wałkuski, asked Kristi Noem in Washington what she had to say to members of the American Polish community who voted for the Republican candidate but have illegal immigrants in their families or among their neighbors.

"The law applies to everybody — both U.S. citizens and those who entered our country illegally. We will hold accountable those who have broken our laws," Noem said.

On Wednesday, President Trump announced that he would be sending illegal immigrants with criminal records to Guantanamo and instructed the Pentagon to prepare a plan to create a facility there with 30,000 beds.
