One of the animals has died after Belarusian authorities did not let the truck enter their country, citing missing paperwork, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency has reported.
The tigers are a gift for a zoo in Russia's southern province of Dagestan, according to Polish private radio broadcaster RMF FM.
A Polish veterinarian has offered to help look after the animals until paperwork issues are resolved, the IAR news agency reported.
Meanwhile, big-cat handlers from a zoo in the western Polish city of Poznań were expected to arrive at the Polish-Belarusian border crossing in Koroszczyn on Tuesday afternoon to provide expert advice.
The tigers were being kept in cages inside the truck, RMF FM said on its website.
