During a press conference ahead of the new school year, Morawiecki said that, "in order to completely return to normality" amid the coronavirus pandemic, "everyone must stick to several basic rules," including disinfecting hands and social distancing.
He added that the country’s Ministry of Education and Science was working to prepare schools to resume “normal” operation from September 1.
“These preparations have been properly carried out," he told reporters.
"Fresh supplies of disinfectant, face masks and various types of personal protective equipment will be shipped to 32,000 schools across the country from the Government Strategic Reserve Agency," he announced.
The deliveries will be proportional to the number of students and teachers in each institution, Morawiecki also said.
He added that such preventive measures were the “most basic line of defense" against a possible rise in infections during a fourth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
