Around 128,800 housing units were completed nationwide between the start of January and the end of August, the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency said.
It added that the number of housing starts in the first eight months of 2024, at around 162,200 in total, was 35.4 percent higher than in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, overall output in Poland’s construction-and-assembly sector fell by 9.6 percent in August in year-on-year terms, while decreasing by 1.5 percent month on month, the state-run statistics agency also reported last week.
Builders completed around 220,400 new homes in Poland last year, a decrease of 7.6 percent from 2022, Statistics Poland said earlier this year in a preliminary estimate.
