The incident occurred on September 20 when the victim reported the theft of cash from his home to the police in Czarnków, a town located approximately 70 kilometers north of Poznań, one of Poland's major cities.

The victim identified the potential suspect as a 15-year-old boy. Law enforcement officers immediately launched an operation to locate the minor. Investigations revealed that he was in the nearby city of Piła. Further intelligence indicated that he was traveling by train toward Poznań accompanied by two men.

By coincidence, an off-duty police officer from the Piła Police Department was on the same train and recognized the teenager. He promptly notified colleagues in Czarnków. "Thanks to efficient cooperation between officers from Czarnków and Piła, the 15-year-old and his companions were detained," the police statement said.

The total value of the confiscated items exceeded PLN 90,000 (USD 23,437).
