The event, which requires specific weather conditions, was reported by the Sieć Obserwatorów Burz (Storm Observers Network) via their X account.
"This morning in Kaszuby, a white rainbow could be observed again," read the post, marking the second time this week the phenomenon appeared in the area.
White rainbows, also known as fogbows, differ from traditional rainbows. While regular rainbows display a spectrum of colors, white rainbows are created when sunlight is scattered by tiny water droplets in fog. This results in a pale, almost ghostly arc, often visible at sunrise or sunset when the sun is at a low angle.
On Monday, the same network reported a white rainbow in the region, captured by photographer Estera Główczewska. “Monday brought fascinating phenomena—first frosts of the season in lowlands, clear cloud boundaries in the east, and a white rainbow in Kaszuby,” they wrote on Facebook.
