“It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them,” said the Vermont independent senator.

He further criticized the Democratic leadership, stating, “While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change. And they’re right,” adding these remarks on social media.

The 83-year-old Sanders also condemned U.S. financial support for Israel, highlighting that its war with Hamas in Gaza has resulted in a severe humanitarian disaster.

Bernie Sanders, whose paternal family originates from Słomniki in southern Poland, is known for his progressive political views and long affiliation with the Democratic Party.

Though he identifies as an independent, Sanders aligns with the Democratic Party on most issues and has run as a Democratic candidate for president in 2016 and 2020.

His policy stances include advocating for universal healthcare, wealth redistribution, and climate action, reflecting his socialist leanings within the U.S. political landscape.
