A day earlier, Hurkacz beat second-seeded Greek player Stefanos Tsitsipas 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the quarterfinal.
Meanwhile, Poland’s Iga Świątek and Bethanie Mattek-Sands of the United States have crashed out of the women's doubles in Miami after losing in the semifinals on Friday to Japanese duo Shuko Aoyama and Ena Shibahara.
