Aleksandra Lisowska equalled the Polish record of 2.26.08 (run by Małgorzata Sobańska in Chicago in 2001). She was followed by Angelika Mach (2:27.48), and Izabela Paszkiewicz (2:28.12).
All three top women runners were faster than the required Olympic minimum of 2:29:30.
Arkadiusz Gardzielewski finished with 2.10.31. Second was Kamil Karbowiak (2:10.35), and Krystian Zalewski was third (2:11.00). All three also qualified for the Olympics (the minimum for men is 2:11:30).
Moreover, finishing better than the Olympic qualifying time were Marcin Chabowski (2:10.17) and Adam Nowicki (2:10.21) - who came tenth and eleventh respectively in Sunday's marathon run at Enschede, Holland.
The final qualifying date for the Games is May 31st. The Polish Athletics Association will then select the runners (a maximum 3 women and 3 men) who will represent Poland at the Olympics in Tokyo.
