Tokyo Games best ever for Polish athletics

With nine Olympic medals, including four golds, won so far by Poland’s athletic team at the Tokyo Olympics, the tournament has been the best ever for Polish athletes.

Until Saturday, Poland had won four gold, one silver and four bronze medals in athletic events, second only to the USA's 5-12-7 tally. Also at second place were Jamaica with four gold and Kenya with three.

Until this summer, Poland's best result was at Sydney in 2000, where the team took four gold.

But Poles have yet to have their last say in Tokyo, with women's high jump as well as 4x400m relay team being tipped for a medal.
