Accompanied by Italy’s Federico Secchi and Marco Majori, Tybor set out for the mountain’s summit at dawn on Wednesday, and the group reached the peak of Mount Manaslu (8,163m) at 3 p.m. local time, the eurosport.tvn24.pl website reported.
After taking a celebratory photograph, the three climbers repacked their equipment and proceeded to ski down the mountain.
Both these feats were achieved without additional oxygen from bottles, making the Polish climber the first woman in history to scale and ski down Mount Manaslu in this manner, according to eurosport.tvn24.pl.
First climbed by a Japanese expedition in 1956, Manaslu, or “the mountain of the spirit” in Nepal, is the eighth-highest mountain in the world, at 8,163m above sea level.
