This season’s ski-jumping World Cup circuit will open with an individual competition in Nizhny Tagil, Russia on Saturday, followed by another individual event a day later.
In all, the 2021/2022 ski-jumping World Cup features 35 competitions, including seven team events, in various countries.
The schedule includes the prestigious Four Hills Tournament in Germany and Austria, the Raw Air event in Norway, the Ski Flying World Championships in Vikersund, Norway in mid-March, and the season-ending Ski Flying World Cup Finals in Planica, Slovenia.
The series will come to Poland twice this season: for competitions in Wisła on December 4-5, and for events in the southern mountain resort of Zakopane on January 15-16.
In February, the world's top ski jumpers will head to China to compete in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
Polish ski jumpers finished runners-up last World Cup season as a team.
Meanwhile, Poland's top ski jumper Kamil Stoch, a three-time Olympic champion, finished third in the overall World Cup standings on an individual basis.
Norway’s Halvor Egner Granerud won the Crystal Globe as champion of the 2020/2021 season.
