Quoting Świątek’s manager Paula Wolecka, the magazine said the two Polish players joined forces to come up with an event to raise money for humanitarian aid for Poland’s war-torn eastern neighbour.
The event is to be held on July 23 in the southern Polish city of Kraków, the Sports Illustrated said.
Both tennis stars are expected to play during the tournament, and the details are soon to be officially announced.
Świątek repeatedly expressed her support for Ukraine in various interviews, and played with a ribbon in the colours of the Ukrainian flag pinned to her hat.
Following her French open victory, earlier this month, in a post-match speech Świątek has sent a message of support for Ukrainians telling them to stay strong amid the Russian invasion.
