In a more personal interview for the Polish Press Agency (PAP), Polish tennis star Magda Linette opens about her recent successes in Australia - her personal best performance in a Grand Slam tournament.
Magda shared that she had not expected to reach the semi-finals where she was beaten by Aryna Sabalenka - who went on to win the tournament.
She said the Australian Open was very stressful, but that she has learned to handle her emotions much better. In her view, handling emotions is half the story to winning - the other half being "tennis". She added that during the Australian Open, not only the matches but the time between them was "intense" as well.
"Before, when I would encounter a player like Naomi Osaka or Serena Williams in the early stages of a tournament, I would assume they were the star of this show and I'm just a supporting actor, but this time I felt I was where I was meant to be."
