The 22-year-old Kałucka scaled the 15-metre wall in 6.98 seconds in the final race to become European champion, while Chudziak finished runner-up.

Italy's Giulia Randi took the bronze in the competition on August 29.

Polish Olympic champion Aleksandra Mirosław, who holds the world record for women's speed climbing at 6.06 seconds, did not compete in Villars.

Aleksandra Kałucka, Natalia's twin sister and bronze medalist at the Paris 2024 Olympics, also missed the European Climbing Championships, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

In June last year, Natalia Kałucka won the women's speed climbing event at the European Games in Poland.
