Lartey, known for his April victory over Poland’s Andrzej Wawrzyk, was unable to rise after taking Knyba’s decisive punch in the third round.
Knyba, a towering fighter with a height of 201 cm and a reach of 218 cm, has quickly become a formidable force in professional boxing since beginning his career in mid-2021.
After nearly a yearlong break since his last victory over American Michael Polite Coffie in December 2023, the "Polish Hussar" returned to the ring in Verona, New York on Saturday night, facing the 32-year-old boxer from Ghana.
The fight, scheduled for eight rounds, reached a thrilling conclusion just before the end of the third when Knyba unleashed a rapid combination of punches, landing a left before finishing with a powerful right that sent Lartey to the canvas.
The referee immediately stopped the match, with Lartey needing extra time to recover from the knockdown.
With this latest win, Knyba extended his undefeated record to 14-0-0, including eight KOs, while Lartey’s record now stands at 16-7-0, including 13 KOs.
