Legia Warsaw beat Dinamo Minsk 4-0 in UEFA Conference League

Polish top-flight heavyweights Legia Warsaw earned a 4-0 home win against Belarusian side Dinamo Minsk in their third game of the UEFA Conference League league phase.

Brazilian winger Luquinhas and Spanish forward Marc Gual each scored two goals for the hosts in Warsaw on Thursday.

After three rounds of fixtures, Legia were second in the Conference League standings, with nine points and no goals conceded, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

Legia beat Spanish side Real Betis 1-0 at home in their opening game of this season’s Conference League. The Polish side then defeated Serbian outfit TSC Bačka Topola 3-0 in an away clash.

Legia will face Cypriot outfit Omonia Nicosia in their next Conference League fixture away from home on November 28.

Meanwhile, Polish champions Jagiellonia Białystok beat Norwegian side Molde 3-0 at home on Thursday in their third Conference League league phase fixture, registering their third win of the competition.

Jagiellonia and Legia will each face six different opponents in the league phase of the 2024/2025 UEFA Conference League until December 19, Polish state news agency PAP has reported.

The top eight sides in the league phase of the new-look Conference League will qualify automatically for the knockout stages, while the teams finishing in ninth to 24th place will compete in a two-legged play-off to secure a place in the last 16 of the competition.

Teams ranked 25-36 will be eliminated from the competition, run by European football governing body UEFA.

The final of this season's Conference League will take place in Wrocław, Poland on May 28, 2025.
