The 30-year-old won a gold medal for Poland in the women's speed climbing competition at the Paris Olympics, while also setting a new world record of 6.06 seconds.
Meanwhile, track-and-field athlete Natalia Bukowiecka (née Kaczmarek), who won the bronze in the women's 400m at the Paris Games, was voted runner-up in the annual poll, which was held by Poland's leading sports newspaper Przegląd Sportowy and private television broadcaster Polsat.

Volleyball player Wilfredo Leon was ranked third as the coveted awards were announced in Warsaw on Saturday night.
Tennis player Iga Świątek came in fourth, and motorcycle speedway racer Bartosz Zmarzlik finished fifth.
Speedway has a massive fan base in the country, and Zmarzlik last year clinched his fifth world championship title in the sport.

Track cyclist Daria Pikulik, who won a surprise silver for Poland in the Olympic women's omnium competition last year, was voted sixth, ahead of boxer Julia Szeremeta, who claimed silver in the women's 57 kg competition at the Paris Olympics, after losing the gold-medal bout against Lin Yu-ting of Taiwan.
Star football player Robert Lewandowski was voted in eighth place, state news agency PAP reported.
Canoer Klaudia Zwolińska, who opened Poland's medal tally at the Games in France by taking the silver in the women’s canoe slalom K1 competition, was named No. 9, and swimmer Ksawery Masiuk rounded out the top 10.
In other awards, Mateusz Mirosław, the coach and husband of Aleksandra Mirosław, was named as Coach of the Year, and the Polish men's national volleyball team, which won silver at the Paris Olympics, was designated as Team of the Year.

Meanwhile, the Polish women's amputee football team, which earned bronze at the Women’s Amputee Football World Cup in Colombia, and the Wisła Kraków men's team, which won the Amputee Football Champions League in September, were singled out for praise in the Sports Without Barriers category.
In other highlights of the ceremony, former ski jumper Wojciech Fortuna, Poland's first winter Olympic champion, was handed a "Superchampion" lifetime achievement award, while the Polish national Paralympic team was named the Sports Inspiration of the Year.
The annual awards were handed out in Warsaw for the 90th time.
