Despite a strong start, Hurkacz (World No. 21) was unable to overcome the four-time Grand Slam champion, who fought back to claim his fourth consecutive victory over the Pole.
The match lasted two hours and 21 minutes, with world number three Alcaraz dominating the third set to book his place in the final against Australia’s Alex de Minaur.
Hurkacz had never advanced past the second round in Rotterdam before this year. His impressive run included wins over Flavio Cobolli, Jiri Lehecka and Andrey Rublev.
The 27-year-old is set to rise to No. 20 in the ATP rankings on Monday.
