The fourth-seeded Pole saw off the American 20-year-old, a former world No. 1 junior and the son of 1998 Australian Open champion Petr Korda, 6-3, 6-3 in the championship match.
After his victory at Delray Beach, Hurkacz is set to move up to world No. 29 in the Association of Tennis Professionals’ (ATP) singles rankings.
That will allow him to be seeded at next month's Australian Open to avoid heavyweights such as Serbia's Novak Djokovic or Spain's Rafael Nadal in the first round of the Grand Slam tournament in Melbourne.
The Polish player in November won the men’s doubles at the Paris Masters together with Canada’s Félix Auger-Aliassime.
That win marked the first ATP doubles title for the 23-year-old Pole.
Hurkacz in August 2019 won his first ATP singles title in the Winston-Salem tournament in the US state of North Carolina.
