Tennis: Poland’s Świątek climbs to world No. 7

Poland’s Iga Świątek has moved up one spot to a career-high No. 7 in the latest rankings by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA).

The 20-year-old Pole is also number four on the leaderboard for the season-ending eight-player WTA Finals event in Shenzhen, China.

Meanwhile, Poland's Magda Linette has moved up a notch to 44th place in the new WTA rankings, which were released on Monday.

Australia's Ashleigh Barty remains world No. 1, followed by Japan's Naomi Osaka and Belarusian star Aryna Sabalenka.
