OFFSIDE The Polish grandmaster wins silver in blitz

Jan Krzysztof Duda claimed silver at the 2021 World Blitz and Rapid Chess Championships on home soil in Warsaw, while 17-year-old Nodirbek Abdusattorov of Uzbekistan became the youngest world rapid champion to date.

Several hundred chess players from various countries competed in the 2021 World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships, held in the Polish capital last week. Among Polish highlights was the performance of Bartosz Soćko, who beat Magnus Carlsen in blitz and Klaudia Kulan.
