Swimming: Two medals for Poland in Melbourne

Poland has won two medals, a silver and a bronze, at the 2022 World Short-Course Swimming Championships, which ended in Melbourne on Sunday.

Poland’s Katarzyna Wasick took the silver in the women’s 50 metres freestyle on the penultimate day of competition in Australia, finishing behind home favourite Emma McKeon.

Wasick touched in at 23.55 seconds, while McKeon set a competition record in the final, winning in 23.04.

Britain's Anna Hopkin came in third, clocking a time of 23.68.

A day earlier, Poland’s Kacper Stokowski claimed the bronze in the men’s 50 metres backstroke, with a time of 22.74.

The 2022 World Short-Course Swimming  Championships were held in Melbourne from December 13 to December 18.

Team Poland in June won two medals, a silver and a bronze, at the World Aquatics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Poland last December won two medals, a gold and a bronze, at the 2021 World Short-Course Swimming Championships in Abu Dhabi.
