Meanwhile, in the men's pole vault, Polish multi-medalist Piotr Lisek will compete against the likes of Brazil’s Thiago Braz, who claimed bronze at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and Ernest Obiena of the Philippines, who came third at last year's world championships in Eugene.
In the women’s 60 metres hurdles, Poland’s European 100 metres hurdles champion Pia Skrzyszowska will be pitted against the world championship runner-up, Britany Anderson of Jamaica, and the European championship runner-up, Luca Kozák of Hungary.
This year’s Orlen Copernicus Cup comes as the city of Toruń celebrates the 550th anniversary of the birth of one of its most famous inhabitants, the Renaissance astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus, organisers said.
