After skiing down K2, the world’s second-highest mountain, five years ago, Bargiel has returned to the Karakoram mountain range for a similar feat on two more "eight-thousanders," Gasherbrum I and Gasherbrum II.

“Our main goal is clearly the skiing exploration of both peaks, and I hope we get the job done over the next four weeks,” Bargiel told an online news conference on Thursday held prior to his departure.

“I’m hoping for good weather and looking forward to spending a great time together,” he added.

In 2015, Bargiel became the first person to ski down Broad Peak, which rises to 8,015 metres in the Himalayas.

Radio Poland’s Michał Owczarek has the story.
