In a blow for football fans in Poland, Raków were on Wednesday eliminated from the competition after losing 1-2 on aggregate to the Danish champions.
Raków on Wednesday drew 1-1 with FC Copenhagen in the Danish capital in the return leg of their Champions League round four qualifier. The first leg a week earlier in Poland ended in a 0-1 defeat for the Polish team.
Raków, who in May won the Polish premier league championship for the first time, will now play in the group stage of the lower Europa League instead.
Meanwhile, Legia Warsaw, who finished runners-up in the Polish premiership last season, will take on Danish side Midtjylland in the Polish capital on Thursday for a place in the Europa Conference League group stage.
Legia and Midtjylland drew 3-3 in the first leg of their Europa Conference League round four qualifier in Herning, central Denmark, last week.
Legia, the most successful Polish football club in history, had advanced to the final qualifying round for the 2023/2024 UEFA Europa Conference League by defeating Austria Vienna earlier this month.
