In her Madrid Open's third round match, it took just over an hour and a quarter for the current leader of the women's world tennis rankings to defeat Romania's Sorana Cirstea, ranked 30th, 6:1, 6:1.
Due to her WTA position, Świątek received a bye in the first round - and in the second round she won 6:1, 6:4 against China's Xiyu Wang, ranked 52nd.
Fighting for the quarterfinals, the Pole will now face Spain's Sara Sorribes Tormo (55th), who defeated the Belarusian Victoria Azarenka (26th) in the 1/16.
