This victory overturned their earlier narrow loss at home and marked their eighteenth qualification in history.

State broadcaster Polish Radio reported that coach Marcin Lijewski made strategic changes to the lineup, introducing Marcel Jastrzębski, Jan Czuwara, and Antoni Doniecki to strengthen the goal, left wing, and defense, respectively.

The match was particularly notable for team captain Arkadiusz Moryta, who played his 100th match for the national team. Despite a focused defense on Kamil Syprzak by Slovakia, Poland maintained a consistent lead, with notable performances from Jastrzębski in goal and Czuwara on the attack.

The win was sealed by Ariel Pietrasik with a long-range goal, ensuring Poland's advancement to the World Cup finals, scheduled to take place in Croatia, Denmark, and Norway from January 14 to February 2 in 2025.
