World champions Argentina remain at the top of the FIFA rankings, followed by World Cup runners-up France.

Belgium are at No. 3, ahead of Brazil in fourth spot.

Poland on June 7 defeated Ukraine 3-1 in a pre-Euro 2024 friendly in Warsaw. On June 10, the Polish team picked up a 2-1 win over Turkey in its last warm-up friendly at home before the continental championships.

Poland lost 1-2 to the Netherlands in its opening group-stage match at the Euro 2024 tournament in Germany on June 16.

The Poles will next take on Austria on Friday, and then play France on June 25 in the group stage of the tournament.

The European championships opened on June 14 and run until July 14 in 10 cities in Germany.

Poland boss Michał Probierz has said that his team is aiming to advance to the knockout stages of Euro 2024 and "will do everything to make that happen."

Poland failed to get past the group stage at the postponed Euro 2020 tournament, where they suffered a defeat to Slovakia before drawing with Spain and losing the decisive game against Sweden.

The Polish team made it through to the quarterfinals of the Euro 2016 championships in France, losing to Portugal on penalties.

Poland reached the last 16 of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar before being eliminated by eventual runners-up France.

Poland's lowest place in the world rankings was 78th, in 2013.
