The Polish team, captained by star striker Robert Lewandowski, suffered an early exit from the Euro 2024 tournament, after losing its first two group-stage matches against the Netherlands and Austria and drawing 1-1 with France in its final game.

Poland finished last in their Group D and failed to advance to the knockout stage of the continental championships, with just one point from three group-stage games.

World champions and Copa America winners Argentina remain at the top of the FIFA rankings, followed by World Cup runners-up and Euro 2024 semifinalists France.

European champions Spain are at No. 3, ahead of Euro 2024 runners-up England in fourth spot.

The European championships were held in Germany from June 14 to July 14.

Poland's lowest place in the world rankings was 78th, in 2013.
