Linette, who is ranked world No. 45 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), defeated the eighth-seeded Russian player 6-2, 6-3 in the round of 16, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
The 32-year-old Pole will next face American Coco Gauff for a place in the last four.
Meanwhile, Poland’s Magdalena Fręch is set to face ninth-seeded Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia in the round of 16 later on Thursday.
Poland's world No. 1 Iga Świątek has withdrawn from the hard-court tournament in Wuhan due to fatigue and personal reasons, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
The 2024 Wuhan Open runs until October 13.
